I remember an early version of Blades gave bonus dice for background, etc. Would be interesting to hear John Harper talk about why he took that out.

I definitely agree that after-session questions are a diluted way to reinforce/reward playing in character. One of my favorite mechanisms for doing this is "roll with questions" from Pasión de las Pasiones. (not sure if this originated with Pasión, but I love it -- it would be a good mechanic to examine in a podcast) Every move you make is an opportunity to review "am I doing this in the spirit of my playbook?"

Yeah! I love roll+questions, and that's a great example to bring in. I believe it did originate with Pasiones. Statless pbta moves in general are really interesting to me. I love what Apocalypse Keys is doing there with darkness tokens, too, where you still have a separation between the roll and the RP incentive, but you've basically brought the RP incentive up well before the roll instead of having it sometime afterwards.

Will have to check that one out, thanks!
