Hello and welcome back to the Dice Exploder podcast! I’m premiering this second season with a two-part series on travel in RPGs.
Yesterday I released an episode with Clayton Notestine of Explorers Design about “The Hex” and logistics-based travel in RPGs.
Today I’ve got a second episode with Morgan Nuncio on cramped quarters, a PBTA move from Uncharted Worlds, all about the emotional truths and troubles of travel in story games.
Both of these episodes are great, and I think they make an even better pair. If you’re pumped about hexes, maybe stick your ear into Mo’s episode. And if you’re more of a For The Queen junkie, I hope you give hexagons a shot. See how the other half lives.
If you’re looking for extra reading today, I can’t recommend enough this blog post from Prismatic Wasteland about running hex crawls, even as the Neverland campaign I’m currently in has ignored it entirely in favor of casually strolling around while memeing it up in every hex with whoever we happen to meet. The duality of life!
Welcome back, friends. See you next week for a very fateful episode.
